Exciting news!!!

Good evening everyone!!! I know I know – I’ve been veeeeeeery quiet the last couple of weeks 😦 – the reason being two-fold…

1. I’ve run out of photos & can’t seem to find the time to get out & take new ones to share with you!!! 😦 &

2. There has been a LOT happening – we have been keeping very busy!!!! 😉

… & on this point – WE (me & He-who-thinks-he’s-boss) have started a blog – (Almost) Living it up in Canada – you can view this here!!! 😀 Obviously it is still a very raw blog – a lot will change as we settle into it – but we wanted a place to document the exciting things that is happening in our lives!!! … 😉

I will keep on posting on this/my blog… Over the next couple of months I won’t be posting regularly at all – so much to organise & do!!! I trust you will understand!!!

Us being silly at a wedding!!!

Have a great evening everyone!!! Almost weekend & it’s gooooooood…. 😀 **

Proudly South African!!!

This weekend was nothing extremely exciting… we worked out, watched rugby (or rather I was busy on my laptop while He-who-thinks-he’s-boss {HWTHB} watched rugby), went to HWTHB’s parents for a Sunday lunch… Nothing special happened…

What did make me weirdly happy was this wonderful Milk Tart…

Proudly South African Milk Tart

Milk Tart is a true South African pudding… & IF you have visited me, you would know that (& you would know how delicious it is…) – BUT, none of you will know!!! 😉

It is almost like a normal tart, just with MUCH more milk!!!! & it is extreme deliciousness!!! Usually you would only sprinkle cinnamon over the entire tart surface – but I LOVED this creativity of sprinkling the South African flag on it… How appropriate!! 😀

I am going to bake these & sell them in Canada!!! 😉

Vienna, Austria – Majestic Stephansdom

Wow… I have been lacking in posts the last month!!! Have been crazy busy at work, been organising our Canada trip (which by the way – we are flying of to tomorrow evening!! 😀 ), but ever since we switched off our satellite television (way proud of us!!!…), we have been keeping busy with other stuff – rather than technology stuff!!! 🙂 My apologies!!! 🙂

Tonight, I am sharing the awesomely majestic Stephansdom Cathedral in Austria!!! This is a seriously impressive building in the middel of Vienna!!! It towers above the other buildings!!! & has a very gothic feel to it!!! But is is impressive (times 17 000!!! 😉 )…

Stephansdom Cathedral – December 2004

So, that’s all I have time for tonight – have to go and pack for the awesome trip to Edmonton, Canada that lies ahead!!! 😀 It is an almost 24hr trip 😦 but looking very much forward to the week ahead!!! & I’ll be coming back with lots of photos & hopefully unforgettable memories to share with you!!! 🙂 **

Zoom photography…

I’ve been obsessed with zoom photography the last couple of weeks…. 😉 Every time I had the opportunity I would try something (anything), not necessarily something specific… But I do have fun playing around with this technique!!! 😀 Here are two more photos that I like a lot… Let me know what you think!??! 😀 **

What the view looks like from (inside???) my head… 😀
Duke… lying between my legs!!! 😀

Are you obsessed with anything specific?? 🙂 **

With Every Hug comes Hope!!!!

I must apologise…. I haven’t done a post in a while…. I have a good reason for it – – – my internet cap is finito!!!! 😦 So the only time that I am able to have a look at other blogs is at work (here & there when I take a quick breather!!!) I am looking at getting a bigger cap, but money is hard to come by…. 😉 So for those who are anxiously awaiting Part.6 of my holiday – – – you guys, I’m sorry, but it will have to wait until start February – – – In the meantime (while I’m at work), I am still following all my favourite blogs – & more!!! 😉

Which brings me to my post today… At this random time (08h30)… A little early for me, I know – but I’m at work & here’s internet 😉 !!! Today’s post is about Hope!!! Yesterday I was awarded with a HUG award by the Island Traveller!!!

Webster’s 1913 Dictionary describes hope as a desire of some good, together with an expectation of obtaining this good (or belief that it is obtainable). It’s a pleasing expectancy, an expectation of something which is desirable!!!

I would say that is a pretty good description… & in a world that we live in today it is becoming necessary to believe and carry hope with you…

I am going to quote Island Traveller:

“The world is inflicted with so much pain, of chaos, of war and poverty, of sickness, of hardships from all sorts of reasons. There is no better time to bring hope that better things can happen than today. People need to believe and feel once again that love, peace , unity, happiness and hope exist. That there are people out there who cares and try to make this world a better place to live in. That there’s a better future that awaits for our children. A future where they could smile, laugh, feel safe and more importantly experience love…”

It’s for people who (regardless of their beliefs – religious, spiritual or political) are able to nurture hope & respect the dignity of all people.

Perm is Cool Again!!!

Ok, so I’m not entirely sure about the above statement…. But I’m certainly loving mine!!! 🙂 I’ve been wanting to perm my hair for years!!! Now I can’t think why I haven’t gotten one sooner!!! It is awesome!!!

The reason why I want one is not because I have some sort of obsession with curly hair… It’s not that I did not like my straight hair… it’s quite simple… I have hair that – – – no matter how much trouble I put into it – – – falls flat onto my head after about 20 minutes!! 😦 It is also sooooo long that it takes ages to “do” something with it…. Most of the days I just end up with a ponytail!!! A perm has always sounded like an easy (& pretty) alternative!!!

I was pretty nervous about doing it – – – did not want to sit with a bunch of 70/80’s curls on my head…. yikes!!! 🙂

– – – BEFORE – – – I simply loosened my ponytail, so this is not an example of “lots-of-trouble-fallen-flat” hair!!!
– – – AFTER – – – My new, no-fuss hairstyle!!!

What do you think about my new (VERY old) look?? Yay / nay?? 🙂 **
