I’ve been a Pinterest nut for a while now – I’ve only been able to try a few pins ranging from very yummy stuff to eat to a few DIY projects!!! (By the way – you can follow my Pinterest here or follow the link on the right)… Quite a while ago I got this idea (see pic below) on Pinterest & decided I could make do with this project!!! 🙂
Here is my before:
I really did NOT like the yellow at all!!! 😦
1. My ‘before’ lampshade
2. Chosen Fabric
3. Scissors, glue, measuring tape & masking tape
I started by cutting the fabric in the correct length with 2 inches to spare on all the sides!! Then I started at a side and started to glue the fabric onto the lampshade section by section… 🙂
Once I’ve glued all the sides and tucked everything in, I taped all the joints and edges with masking tape to leave overnight for the glue to dry…
My very satisfying after:
I love the result – I’ll never miss the yellow lampshades!!! 😉
Today we attended a trail running event (He-who-thinks-he’s-boss participated & unsporty ol’ me decided to have a go at a few runners with my trusty camera!!)… I really am NOT good in capturing people – – – let alone moving people!! But I guess it’s just something that I have to practice and figure out!! Any handy tips??
Any way, so I decided to post my next attempt at HDR (again handheld… oops!)!! It was taken from three shots (-2,0,+2) and the merging of the three (in CS5) created this weird rainbow type effect where the sun is!!!
I am quite chuffed with it… now, if only I can make the effort and tag along a tripod!!! 😉 **
Today was a very laid-back day. Me and he-who-think-he’s-boss went to the autofair, bought a dishwasher (Yaaaaayyyy!!! 😀 — very happy face!) and are now chilling in front of the tele — a favourite to relax!
Fortunately I shot some pics on Friday before going on our getaway! Here are a few that I am pretty pleased with. Any comments/feedback on how to better my photos are more than welcome! I want to learn… &as you can see in my ‘About’, I’m an amateur photographer! — so please feel welcome to give me some pointers!! 🙂
Winter has taken its toll - our lonely postbox!
This is the type of stuff I love to shoot! It is simple & often overlooked in our busy daily lives. It is a challenge to shoot it in a different way or from a different angle. Often my best shot would be the simplest (is there even such a word?). I try to keep manipulation to a minimum (as my photoshop knowledge is very limited), most often my photos are directly from the camera.
