I almost forgot the last few photos that I have to share of our trip to Canada… I don’t really have a big story to go along with it… so this is more of a photo-post!!! 🙂
We ate in an Irish Pub…
Watched this landscape change many times…
Drank coffee at Second Cup – waaaaaaaay better than starbucks!! …
We were totally thrown of by the time it (eventually) gets dark…
Took photos of sweet nothings that will mean something only to me/us…
Yet another different landscape…
Ok, so to sum up our trip to Edmonton, Canada – – – We enjoyed it very much, saw many new things, experienced different stuff in a short time, went for interviews, saw snow, drove on the wrong side of the road – – –
… & signed a contract to work in Canada!!! 😀
So, if all goes well/fast (we are still awaiting the approved LMO) – we will be moving/immigrating to Edmonton end of this year!!! 🙂
I’ll keep you posted!!! 🙂 **
Very exciting news!
This is very exciting! If you would like to be shown around a bit, let me know! I’ve lived here my whole life. 🙂
Oh yes… I’ll certainly be doing that!!! I am very excited about this, but seeing that I am not a “change” person, I am at the same time quite nervous & scared!!! Any help or offers like this I’ll take!!! Thanks so much!! 🙂 **
You are very welcome, stay in touch! My email is theliftblog@gmail.com
Xandré, that’s very exciting news! Glad you both enjoyed northern Alberta!
Hmmm, if you may be moving to Edmonton by the end of this year, I may have to stop by South Africa this September, as Cape Town is high on my list. Yes, I know you’re in Pretoria … 😉
Sounds like a plan Henry… 😉 **
Great photos! And I’m so excited for you. Good luck!
Oh my! I want your life. That platter of fish and chips especially!
It was super yummy!!! 😉 **
Wow, congrats on the offer… hope you guys are excited about the move 🙂
Yes yes!!! Very excited – but also extremely nervous!!! 🙂 **
Congrats on the offer; probably going to be a huge change for you (wait to you see one of their winters!)
I love winter!!! But I have to admit – I’m scared I’ll be eating these words!! I’ve heard the winters are killers!!! – & of course it is nothing like what were used to here!!! 🙂 **
How exciting for you. Can wait to see how it all goes for you. 🙂
Those posters everywhere, we have that here as well, I thought they were a universal thing. The petrol is very cheap, we are paying around $1.50 per litre here, sometimes it goes down to $1.28, but that is very rare. Loved the burger. 🙂
Thanks Leanne!! Also excited/nervous/scared/happy about it!! Think it is going to be a very emotional move!!! 😉 – Teeeheee, the burger ended up being super tasty!!! 🙂 **
Yayyyyyy, you’re going to be a Canadian eh? That is soooo exciting. I just wish you were going to be closer to me. Too bad Canada is so bloody huge!!
Yeeeeeees!! I know – but we are planning on travelling Canada till we drop!! (or that’s what were planning now!!!) We’ll drop by for sure!! 🙂 **
I’ll hold you to that if you visit Ontario!! We would love to meet you and HWTHB 🙂
Wow, Xandre! Moving to Canada, how exciting. It’s a great place to live.
If you make it to Ottawa, anytime let me know!!
Great images. 🙂
We will certainly be planning a trip to Ottawa!!! It was our first choice – unfortunately, we don’t make the choice of where we want to work!! 😉 Will be ringing you up!!! 😀 **
These photos are amazing!!! Small captions with so much left for intrigue. Love the name, Second Cup. Burger with no meat, that’s ladies’ burger right there. 😀
$25 for 20 what gallon? If so that it’s gallon, it’s cheap then, eh? Sorry, I hate conversions.
Thanks Rommel!!! In the end the mushroom burger was super tasty!!! – although HWTHB is still quite not over the fact that he ate a vegetarian burger!!!
No no, not per gallon – per litre!!! But even that for us was very cheap!!! 🙂 **
I agree with HWTHB – hamburger without meat??!!!! WT… 🙂 Uhm, emigrating? Really? xxx
It was almost more tasty than a meaty burger – for real!!! 😀 Don’t worry – I’m planning on getting you there ASAP for ALAP (As long as possible) 😀 !!! **
Yay!!!! xxx
I love the colors in your “poster totem.” Orange buildings? I though the Canadians were all too prim and proper for that. Guess I should be traveling more!! 😉
There are lots of vegetarians and vegans on the western side of this continent. So a portobello burger has no meat. But you can order a burger and ask for the mushroom to go with it. Now that is delish!!
We do call it gas, short for gasoline, down here in the states as well. We also drive on the right side of the road. To us, the side that’s left is the wrong one. 😉
Welcome to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We’ll have to post bills of welcome near all the Irish pubs.
